Participants will receive the study medication twice daily for 4 months. The study will also provide a daily dose of an approved gout medication in addition to the investigational drug to treat gout flares. Additional procedures include ultrasound, electrocardiogram (ECG), laboratory testing, and physical exam. Participants will also be asked to complete a daily diary starting at the 4th study visit. Total participation will last approximately 4.5 months and will include 9 doctor’s visits and one follow-up phone call. Eligibility for the study will be determined by the study doctor following screening visits to the clinic. Trial-related procedures and study medication will be provided at no cost. Qualifications: - Must have gout diagnosis - Cannot have diabetes, high blood pressure, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, pseudogout, or systemic lupus erythematosus
